CASA Sustainability: A Minimal-Waste Fulfillment Model
#GIVEASHIT
At CASA Studio, sustainability was not an afterthought. It was baked right into our business model from "Day 0".- CASA employs an innovative "circular economy" system for recycling the components of its packaging. Each lamp is shipped with a pre-paid envelope which allows customers to return the specially-designed cardboard inserts to the CASA HQ, to be re-used for future shipments.
- 10% of CASA's profits go to The Barefoot College, which trains women worldwide as solar engineers, innovators and educators, who then return to their villages to bring light and learning to their community.
- CASA is a member of the Eco-Packaging Alliance, which contributes to global reforestation, planting trees in areas of need.
- CASA uses bio-compatible (biodegradable) materials in its packaging, such as paper and cardboard, instead of bio-incompatible materials such as plastic and foam.
- All of the physical components of lamps in CASA's CLEAR collection are either bio-compatible or able to be recycled.
- As of October 2019, all new lamp shades use natural dyes, such as indigo and turmeric, for coloration.
- In the event that your lamp no longer suits your needs, its components can be disassembled and used for alternative decorative purposes, such as planters or storage.
